My friend we’ve all got it so wrong

If you knew all along they have no bearing on your life

What they do doesn’t put food on your plate, pay your bills or put clothes on your back

Their opinions, their judgement all just irrelevant anecdotes

If you knew you’d simply do you, you’d choose you each and every time

You wouldn’t spend money you don’t have trying to impress people you don’t even know

You’d walk the street with your head raised high knowing it’s you and only you who dictates your life
