Ultimately we are all responsible for our own behaviours. The way we act is a result of the way our minds work. We can not be responsible for what other people say or fall in to the trap of believing we behave in a certain manner because of another persons actions.
People do not always behave the way we’d like them to, or say the things we want them to in a way that would benefit us but we do have a choice in how we react to them.
YOU are responsible for how YOU respond to life. Every action we make is a choice we have made.
On a conscious level we can choose to deal with things differently, our automatic subconscious response is not always the best response. Our subconscious responds according to what it is use to, what it has been taught but we can retrain our subconscious by being aware. Being fully present in the moment and trying not to let our reactions run wild down destructive paths, to which we feel we have no control over. The truth is we have control over everything that involves us, what we do or say we control it. We just have to be aware, be present in the moment to make the correct choices.
Our subconscious is very powerful, but left unchecked it can wreck havoc in our lives from all the bad habits it’s been programmed by, it is our conscious mind that uses logic and can reason with the world. By being more conscious we can retrain our subconscious to work for us. Our conscious mind will allow us to process the facts and respond accordingly. This is why it’s so important at times to take a minute to actually think, take a minute to tune into our conscious minds so we can take control.
There is a mindful difference between reacting and responding.
