Regrets

It’s hard to live a life with no regrets but harbouring regret doesn’t get us anywhere in life.

We all have a past we could reflect on, pinpointing the exact moments when we should have turned left instead of right, spoke instead of being silent, ran instead of being still.

Hindsight is a beautiful thing

We can look back and use our past to help us make better decisions in our present, we can use it to learn from but dwell on we shouldn’t. There is no growth in simply replaying a regret, we remain stagnant stuck in a place of nothingness as the past no longer exists.

Do I have any regrets in life, sure I’ve got plenty but I now look at them differently. I’m not denying them but embracing them. I’m learning how to detach myself from my regrets taking only the positives, taking only the learning outcomes. Everything else does not serve to make me a better person but to bring me down.

Dwelling on our regrets is like digging a hole for ourselves and continuing to dig deeper hoping one day to miraculously escape.

We can not do over any of our past actions all we can do is learn from the past and move on.

  1. Yesssss to all of this, especially: “Dwelling on our regrets is like digging a hole for ourselves and continuing to dig deeper hoping one day to miraculously escape.
