The Loud Whisper

One of the biggest challenges..
..Being true to one’s inner self

Listening to that inner voice
That loud whisper.. Eating away at our subconscious

Unforgiving in the damage it may cause
It’s only concern.. You

Do we disobey this quiet scream..
Clouded by fear
..Consequences in every instance

Do we listen.. Take heed
Face up to life..

Slaves to what ifs, buts and maybes

Our biggest opposition.. Ourselves

Listening to ourselves is one of the hardest things we can do at times.

I wrote this a few years ago, upon reflection I think there’s two sides to this.. It all boils down to what you have put inside yourself.

What has your subconscious been taught?

A person who is negative has ultimately conditioned their subconscious to respond in such a way. For example a great opportunity might have arisen but it involves you moving away. Your inner voice will tell you its not the best thing to do, you can’t do..it will highlight all the reasons why you shouldn’t take the job. In this case listening to that voice prevents you from a great opportunity which could have turned out to be the best decision you ever made. Because your subconscious has been fed negativity and you listened to that voice, you will now never know.

On the other hand you have the positive thinker who has conditioned themselves to respond in such a way. Their inner voice will highlight all the reason why they should take the job. Listening to their invoice allows them to take this job.

For me this just highlights how important it is to ensure you only put in that which is good for you. Our subconscious responds with that what it has learnt, if it is used to being afraid of new situations it will always sway you from them.

We have to make conscious decisions about how we want to live our lives. If you want to be a bold person, confident, a forward thinker it doesn’t happen automatically. We have to consciously think that way so to allow our subconscious to absorb this and therefore respond to situations in that way.

That silent voice can only speak what it has been previously told. If we have repeatedly told ourselves we can not do this or we can’t do that then when situations arrive this is what our subconscious will eat at away at us saying.

Our subconscious mind can not differentiate between a negative and a positive thought. It will take on whatever it has been fed, whatever has been nurtured and these are the fruits you will bear.

If you’ve spent years thinking negatively, your inner voice is not necessarily helping you.

We can all change what we put in today by making a decision and becoming aware. It’s a process that has to start somewhere.
