Old & Bitter.. No thank you

I refuse to speak bad about anyone from my past because there was a time when they were my present and In that present they were my everything.

It always get me when relationships or friendships end and then people proceed to speak bad about one another, almost trying to discredit the past they shared or even worse mask the pain or bitterness they may be feeling about the relationship ending.

We choose to tarnish the relationship by engaging with all these negative emotions creating more negative emotions towards that person, instead of accepting the situation for what it is.

What does it prove by speaking bad about someone from your past, does it validate there absence in your life? Does it make you feel better?

Ultimately hate produces more hate as does anger bring more anger. The best thing to do in these situations is to remember the good times and simply accept the current situation.

What do you have to gain by hating an ex partner or friend.. absolutely nothing. All it will do is make you grow into an old bitter person, no thank you I’ll continue giving out love because I refuse to be like Aunty Shirley, I don’t know who she is but I’m sure we’ve all come across a bitter Aunty Shirley.

As harsh as it may sound, there are some people who were in your life for a specific reason. When that reason is over and the job has been done there presence in your life can no longer continue. You may fight it, you may try to resist with all the energy you have but for some reason unknown to you it just won’t work. This is the reason, their mission is complete. Take the blessings or take the lessons and keep on stepping.
